Equine Wellness Group's founder, Katja Auer, holds a Masters Degree in Science, a Masters Degree in Business Administration, is a Tallgrass Acupressure Institute Equine Practitioner, is Certified in Equine Massage and practices Reiki. During her studies at the University of Arizona, she completed graduate level class work in animal anatomy, physiology, equine nutrition, chemistry and microbiology.

When Mike & his wife acquired their first standard poodle, Chai, he began his journey into dog sports and they, compete at the "excellent" level in AKC agility trials. Kalin became an equine enthusiast as a child living amidst the sheep farms in Southern New Zealand, leading to her later working at a pack outfit in the Southern High Sierras.
